Executive Summary
The 18 filings for the S&P BSE SENSEX 30 stream on 2026-10-28 are dominated by two Sensex constituents: Adani Ports and Special Economic Zone (APSEZ) and Hindustan Unilever (HUL), with the rest comprising earnings-calendar notices from Power Grid, NTPC and Bharti Airtel, a Titan subsidiary incorporation, an Infosys guidance cut, and an HCL Technologies product launch.
Top-line momentum is strong at APSEZ (consolidated revenue up ~24% YoY to ₹11,340 Cr) and HUL (USG 15%, highest in 14 quarters, UVG 7%), but earnings quality is weaker than headlines suggest: APSEZ standalone PAT fell ~40% sequentially and Logistics EBITDA grew only 8% on 21% revenue growth, while HUL's EBITDA margin contracted 140 bps to 22.6% and reported PAT was flat YoY because of a one-off ₹273 Cr tax gain in the base period. Infosys is the clearest negative, cutting FY27 constant-currency revenue growth guidance to 1-2% from 1.5-3% on softer volumes and pricing pressure, even as AI revenue rose to 10.5% of revenue and large-deal TCV reached $5.2 bn. The dominant portfolio pattern is growth driven increasingly by price/mix and high-margin pockets rather than broad volume expansion, with mixed sentiment on most of the material filings. Near-term catalysts cluster around the 1 November 2026 Power Grid board meeting, the 31 October NTPC call, the 6 November Bharti Airtel call, and HUL's ₹19 interim dividend (record date 12 November).

Investment Signals (10)
- Adani Ports and Special Economic Zone (APSEZ) (BULLISH)▲
Consolidated Q2 FY27 revenue up ~24% YoY to ₹11,340 Cr, EBITDA up 23% to ₹6,807 Cr, PAT up 18% to ₹3,682 Cr, and FY27 revenue/EBITDA guidance raised by ₹1,000 Cr each to ₹44,000-46,000 Cr and ₹26,000-27,000 Cr
- Hindustan Unilever (HUL) (BULLISH)▲
Underlying Sales Growth of 15% (highest in 14 quarters) with UVG of 7%, and PAT before exceptional items up 9%, shows genuine demand momentum in Home Care (USG 22%) and Beauty & Wellbeing (USG 16%)
- Infosys ↓ (BULLISH)▲
Q2 FY27 AI revenue reached 10.5% of total revenue (up from 8.2% last quarter, +29% sequentially) and large-deal TCV of $5.2 bn with 62% net new, a strong forward-order signal
- Infosys ↓ (BEARISH)▲
FY27 constant-currency revenue growth guidance cut to 1-2% from 1.5-3% citing softer volumes, competitive pricing pressure and weak Retail/Hi-Tech demand, while operating margin guidance of 20-22% was held
- APSEZ Logistics and SEZ (BEARISH)▲
Logistics EBITDA grew only 8% YoY against 21% revenue growth (margin compression), and SEZ revenue and EBITDA were flat at ~2% growth, meaning consolidated growth is leaning on a narrower set of segments
- APSEZ (standalone) (BEARISH)▲
Standalone PAT fell ~40% sequentially to ₹940.97 Cr from ₹1,557.49 Cr and standalone Current Ratio dropped to 0.33 from 0.62, a sharp liquidity and earnings-quality warning despite revenue up ~11% YoY
- HUL (BEARISH)▲
Consolidated EBITDA margin fell 140 bps YoY to 22.6% (EBITDA +8% vs turnover +15%), and Foods UVG was only low-single digit, so growth is price/mix-driven with rising cost or mix pressure
- HUL (MIXED)▲
Reported PAT of ₹2,796 Cr was flat YoY versus ₹2,791 Cr, flattered in the base period by a ₹273 Cr one-off tax gain, so the underlying 9% PAT-before-exceptional growth is the cleaner read
- APSEZ Joint Ventures (MIXED)▲
Consolidated share of JV profit swung to +₹139.51 Cr in Q2 from a ₹(287.76) Cr loss in Q1, although the half-year figure remains negative at ₹(148.25) Cr versus ₹(52.89) Cr a year earlier
- Power Grid / NTPC / Bharti Airtel ↓ (NEUTRAL)▲
Q2 and H1 FY27 results and calls are scheduled (Power Grid board 1 Nov with ₹ interim dividend record date 6 Nov; NTPC call 31 Oct; Bharti Airtel call 6 Nov), with no financial figures disclosed yet, so these are event-driven rather than signal-driven
Risk Flags (8)
- Infosys/Guidance Cut↓ [HIGH RISK]▼
FY27 revenue growth guidance lowered to 1-2% (from 1.5-3%) with pricing expansion expected at the start of the year failing to materialize due to competitive intensity; a second-order risk if Retail and Hi-Tech demand weakness persists
- APSEZ/Liquidity [HIGH RISK]▼
Standalone Current Ratio fell to 0.33 from 0.62 and standalone PAT dropped ~40% QoQ, creating short-term liquidity pressure that the consolidated headline growth masks
- APSEZ/Debt Coverage [HIGH RISK]▼
Consolidated Debt Service Coverage Ratio fell to 3.24 in Q2 FY27 from 6.56 a year earlier, even though the Debt-Equity ratio improved to 0.56 from 0.76, indicating servicing capacity is tightening as capex guidance rose ₹3,000 Cr to ₹15,000-17,000 Cr
- APSEZ/Segment Margins [MEDIUM RISK]▼
Consolidated Operating Margin slipped to 60% from 61% YoY, with Logistics EBITDA lagging revenue by 13 points and Domestic Ports (the earnings anchor) growing only 11% EBITDA on 13% revenue
- HUL/Margin Erosion [MEDIUM RISK]▼
EBITDA margin contracted 140 bps to 22.6% despite the 15% top-line growth, signalling input-cost or promotional pressure that may cap earnings expansion
- HUL/Quality of Earnings [MEDIUM RISK]▼
The reported PAT flatness and the auditor's reliance on another auditor's review for subsidiary Unilever Nepal, plus the Brazilian subsidiary being included only up to 8 September 2026, warrant closer scrutiny of group disclosures
- HUL/Segment Mix [MEDIUM RISK]▼
Personal Care UVG flat against 9% USG and Oral Care delivering only low-single-digit USG indicate that growth in several categories is price-led and may not be durable
- Infosys/Demand Quality↓ [MEDIUM RISK]▼
Management cited Retail and Hi-Tech softness and volume weakness alongside competitive pricing pressure, so the guidance cut is not a one-off timing effect
Opportunities (7)
- APSEZ/Guidance Upgrade (OPPORTUNITY)◆
FY27 revenue and EBITDA guidance raised by ₹1,000 Cr each to ₹44,000-46,000 Cr and ₹26,000-27,000 Cr, with consolidated revenue growth of 24% YoY providing momentum into H2
- HUL/Interim Dividend (OPPORTUNITY)◆
₹19 per share interim dividend for FY27 with record date 12 November 2026 and payment 25 November 2026; the 15% USG and highest-in-14-quarters growth support dividend sustainability
- HUL/Home Care and Beauty (OPPORTUNITY)◆
Home Care USG of 22% and Beauty & Wellbeing USG of 16% (segment revenue +17% to ₹4,319 Cr) are the highest-growth franchises and the clearest source of upside to the category mix
- Infosys/AI Monetization↓ (OPPORTUNITY)◆
AI revenue share of 10.5% growing 29% QoQ, plus $928 mn free cash flow and stable 21% operating margin, offers a re-rating path if guidance stabilizes at the 20-22% margin band
- APSEZ/JV Recovery (OPPORTUNITY)◆
The swing in consolidated JV share from a ₹(287.76) Cr loss to a ₹139.51 Cr gain in Q2 could continue to lift consolidated PAT if the trend holds
- HCL Technologies/Nano GCC↓ (OPPORTUNITY)◆
The AI-powered nano Global Capability Center offering on AWS, starting with APAC rollout and targeting established GCCs and mid-market firms, adds a new recurring-revenue channel with joint go-to-market support from AWS
- Infosys/Finacle Wins↓ (OPPORTUNITY)◆
UNI Financial Cooperation (C$5.3 bn assets, 1,100 employees) deploying Finacle Universal Banker across all branches extends a relationship dating to 2021, supporting the banking-platform revenue base
Sector Themes (6)
- Price/Mix Over Volume in FMCG and IT◆
HUL's 15% USG versus 7% UVG (Foods UVG low-single digit, Personal Care UVG flat) and Infosys citing pricing pressure rather than expansion show a common pattern where top-line growth is increasingly price-led, which is fragile if competitive intensity rises
- Margin Compression Across Growth Names◆
HUL EBITDA margin down 140 bps YoY and APSEZ consolidated operating margin down 1 pt YoY, with Logistics EBITDA lagging revenue growth by 13 points, indicating that revenue growth is not translating into proportionate margin expansion in the portfolio
- Headline vs Underlying Earnings Gaps◆
Reported PAT for HUL is flat YoY while PAT before exceptionals grew 9%, and APSEZ's standalone PAT fell sharply sequentially despite consolidated PAT growth, so investors should anchor on underlying and segment-level earnings
- AI as a Growth Pocket in IT Services◆
Infosys AI revenue at 10.5% of total (+29% QoQ) and HCL's AI-led nano GCC launch show AI is becoming the differentiated growth engine for Indian IT services even as core volumes soften
- Capital Allocation Tilting to Infrastructure and Shareholder Returns◆
APSEZ raised FY27 capex guidance by ₹3,000 Cr to ₹15,000-17,000 Cr, while HUL is returning cash through a ₹19 interim dividend and Power Grid's interim dividend is pending, pointing to capex-heavy infrastructure alongside steady payouts in consumer names
- Earnings-Calendar Density in Late October/Early November◆
Multiple Sensex 30 constituents (Power Grid, NTPC, Bharti Airtel, HUL, Infosys) are concentrated in a short window, so the period is event-rich and expectations for H1 FY27 results should be set with the sector themes above in mind
